The project focuses on investigating the nanoscale coexistence of antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic order using linear and higher order magneto-optical effects. The magnetic behavior of the system under different external stimuli (e.g., temperature, magnetic field, intense light pulses) will be investigated via its interaction with polarized light. The student will learn about the design of laser-based optical setups and magneto-optical microscopy.
